Bonding differs significantly from typical subscription models. Subscription platforms require users to make ongoing monthly payments, pressuring Creators to regularly deliver content, which can disrupt their natural creative flow. Bonding, however, involves a one-time, refundable deposit with no recurring payments. Users bond once—such as $200—and gain continuous membership to a Creator’s Inner Circle, compared to paying $5 each month to maintain membership. Unlike subscriptions which typically have fixed amounts, bonding is much more personalized, allowing members to choose their own amount and stand out from the rest.

Bonding represents a deeper and more intentional relationship compared to simply following a Creator, which is free and superficial. While a follow or like doesn’t provide meaningful insight into genuine interest, a bond signifies a deliberate commitment from a user.

Yes, users can increase or decrease their bonded amount at any time. Withdrawals may be limited in extremely rare circumstances discussed below under Liquidity Risks.

The money users bond is routed directly into an onchain lending market, specifically lending vaults deployed on the Morpho Protocol.

Initially, the Bond platform supports four key benefits:

• Access to an exclusive group chat with the Creator.
• Access to a feed of content shared by the Creator.
• Access to a vault of files shared by the Creator.
• A position on the Creator’s leaderboard, showing users how their bonded amount compares to others. More benefits will be added to the platform in the future.

Not necessarily. Creators can gate certain benefits based on the amount a user bonds. For example, a Creator may choose to restrict access to the exclusive group chat or specific files to members who have bonded at least $20.

No, not directly. Funds are controlled by immutable smart contracts. The Bond platform and Creators have limited, predefined actions enforced by these contracts. Specifically, the Bond platform can add or remove vaults from an onchain allowlist, and Creators can redirect user funds between allowed yield vaults. They have no other control over user funds beyond these actions.

No. Once created, Creators have complete control over their bond smart contracts. The only action Bond can perform is adding or removing yield vaults from a predetermined allowlist. Even then, Creators retain full control over deciding if and when they switch between these allowed vaults.

Initially, one vault is available to Creators to hold user funds and accrue interest. It is a MetaMorpho vault on the Morpho Blue Protocol: Spark USDC Vault.
